Love Island

Love Island is an internationally popular reality TV series broadcasted on Channel Nine. In 2019 and in 2021, the show featured in the Powered Big Ideas Store, which comprises of a team of specialist marketers who seek to identify how brands can leverage creative opportunities across all platforms

To attract interest towards Love Island, AVS collaborated with Rizer, an Events Management Company, to deliver a custom-branded and configured vending machine that stored redeemable giveaway products. These items supported the promotional initiatives of Love Island, where brands who raised interest in seeking marketing opportunities through the show were granted a special token to redeem a free complimentary product from the machine. This idea positively impacted consumer awareness and brand engagement, providing a unique complimentary experience to attract interest.

Vendi Golf

Vendi Golf is a technology start-up based in Victoria that provides regional golf courses across Australia with technology-based solutions for their unique operating environment. The brand was formed with a vision to eliminate the traditional challenges faced by regional golf courses, including a lack of facilities and member support services, as well as an over-reliance on volunteers and consumer honesty for transactions. In response, Vendi Golf has utilised vending machines as a way to replicate the function of a pro shop, offering cashless solutions for green fees and a range of golfing accessories, snacks and beverages.

To accomplish this vision, Vendi Golf approached AVS for vending machines and equipment capable of supporting the business model and services Vendi Golf had established. AVS was able to meet the specific needs of Vendi Golf by supplying customised Crane Media vending machines, configured with custom spirals and trays that were capable of vending green fees and an array of golfing accessories, such as golf balls, gloves, tees, fly repellent and sunscreen, alongside more traditional snack and beverages. AVS further equipped these machines with state-of-the-art cashless payments systems that have enabled customers to utilise flexible forms of payment, such as tap n go, digital wallets, or QR codes. In addition, AVS and Vendi Golf developed a solution that enables the monitorisation of golfer’s prize accounts for utilisation on the vending machines, helping drive greater interactivity and sales.

Through AVS’s supply of customisable vending machines and consultation of vending solutions to address the specific opportunities and challenges faced by Vendi Golf and regional golf clubs, the brand has been able to appeal to the interests of multiple golf courses in all states of Australia.

The strategic partnership between AVS and Vendi Golf has ensured that clubs have the necessary technology and facilities to support their services and NEVER CLOSE AGAIN.

White Claw

White Claw is a large international spirit brand specialising in hard seltzer beverages. In 2021, White Claw planned to release their new Black Cherry flavour into the Australian market, seeking assistance from Yakusan to deliver a successful promotional campaign. With a vision to utilise vending machines at the forefront of the campaign to drive consumer engagement, Yakusan approached AVS for a custom vending solution.

AVS was able to meet the specific needs of White Claw and Yakusan, delivering fully custom branded vending machines that were placed in prominent clubs, hotels, and pubs across Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The machines, which contained samples of the White Claw Black Cherry flavour, supplemented the key promotional initiative of encouraging consumers to engage with the brand socially by sharing personal experiences and preferences through the interactive message “What’s your White Claw”. In exchange, a number of lucky consumers were provided with a custom White Claw token as their ticket to the ultimate test taste…the opportunity to try Black

PPE Safety Vending Machines for Coronavirus, COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated an unprecedented need for innovation, safety, hygiene and convenience.

At Automatic Vending Specialists, we have created Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety vending machines that dispense critical hygiene products such as surgical face masks, p2 face masks, disposable gloves, anti-bacterial tissues, alcohol-based hand sanitisers, PPE & safety supplies and many other customisable product ranges.

Our range of indoor or outdoor vending machines can be placed virtually anywhere to vend these high-demand hygiene and safety products. Our PPE Safety vending machine are fitted with tap and go payment systems, or security access card readers for hospitals and workplaces, reducing the need for physical touch.

Pop N Go Popcorn

Pop N Go Popcorn is a small specialty store situated in Westfield Chermside that sells gourmet popcorn cooked fresh on a daily basis. With a new venture in mind, Pop N Go approached AVS for a custom vending solution that would help them achieve their goal of expanding their products into new sites.  

To assist with this venture, AVS modified and customised a Crane Media Ambient vending machine to create a popcorn custom vending machine, configured to meet the specific needs of Pop N Go. This involved equipping the machines with custom spirals and trays that were capable of vending large popcorn bags not suited to a standard vending machine setup, and branding the machines to Pop N Go’s specific colours and logos. AVS was further able to help Pop N Go secure sites and locations by referring the brand to contacts at Westfield responsible for vending leasing.  

The response from this venture has been highly successful. Over the past year, Pop N Go has secured vending leases in six key locations, including Sunshine Plaza, Westfield Garden City, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Pacific Fair, Westfield Chermside and Strathpine Centre, enabling greater reach and exposure that has improved brand recognition, sales and profits. Looking into the future, Pop N Go plans to continue their expansion venture, and have managed to secure several other key shopping centre locations for which AVS are currently preparing popcorn custom vending machines. 

Armani Box custom vending machine

As part of Armani’s worldwide promotional tour, Armani Box was a pop-up activation that took place in Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne.

A key feature of the Armani Box is a red gorilla statue named Uri. The gorilla, created by Italian artist Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, is a replica of the one found in Giorgio Armani’s home in Milan. Uri features on a limited-edition Lip Maestro lipstick and Armani Box tote bags, available exclusively at the pop-up.

Armani Box aims to immerse travellers in the brand’s make-up universe through sensorial and playful elements. Armani Face Designers are there to give make-overs and educate travellers about the brand’s complexion range and lip collection, including Lip Maestro and Lip Magnet.

Automatic Vending Specialists customised and provided a Crane MEDIA 6 Ambient to dispense the lip care range offered at the pop-up.

Custom Travel Accessories Vending Machine

A.Royale & Co is a family owned and operated company based in Sydney Australia. The business designs, manufactures and distributes a diverse range of products & Brands to the Department Store, Discount Department Store, Supermarket, Independent & Pharmacy channels. Their brands include Globite, Ms Fix-It, Brockman Supply Co. and Sahara Collective.

A.Royale had an opportunity to place two machines at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne CBD to retail some of their more popular travel products. AVS provided a customised vending machine on a short-term rental to allow A.Royale to capitalise on the Southern Cross Station opportunity. AVS was able to customise the travel vending machine to successfully vend challenging-sized products as they did not fit the standard layout of a vending machine.

AVS was able to successfully brand and customise two unattended retailers to vend travel products including umbrellas, luggage organisers / separators, wallets & security products, travel pillows, travel adaptors, RFID protection, luggage accessories, anti-DVT socks and sleep accessories. Umbrellas required some lateral thinking to ensure successful vend due to their unique shape and height. AVS adjusted shelving, selection bays and spirals to allow the successful presentation and vend of their travel products. Capitalising on the cashless trend, the machines were enabled to only accept “PayWave” and not traditional payment options such as coins and notes.

Vittoria Coffee custom vending machine

As part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, Vittoria activated on-site within Carriageworks as a pop-up cafe, designed by one of Sydney’s most prolific Interior Designers of hospitality spaces, Matt Woods. The ultra-modern pop-up installation was designed utilising a zero waste construction method and is a nod to Vittoria’s influence on Australia’s cafe culture.

At AVS, we customised one of our VM Series, VM5 PLUS S, elevator vending machines to vend re-usable, environmentally friendly, ceramic coffee cups. The elevator allowed the gentle vend of the products without risk of breakage. AVS also arranged the decaling of the vending machine for this short-term activation.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, 12-18 May, marked the launch of the Fashion Series reusable and takeaway cups, complementing Vittoria Coffee’s exclusive category sponsorship of Fashion Week. Designer takeaway cups are available in Vittoria Coffee cafes from May to August, 2019, and the reusable ceramic crockery is available on vittoriacoffee.com in limited numbers from May, 2019.

Cotton On vending machine

The Cotton On Group launched its new superstore in Cavill Avenue on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

The store was designed to showcase the new look and future direction of Cotton On’s stores. Automatic Vending Specialists customised the Vending machines for Cotton On. The machines were stocked with Cotton On flip flops, ready to purchase.

The company says that the flip flop / thong vending machine has been a massive business drawcard on the busy tourist strip on Cavill Avenue.

This allowed the business to continue trading after hours, with successful vending and great customer satisfaction.

Lancôme custom vending machine

Lancôme launched this pop-up activation at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 20th of January, 2019. Lara Master Classes and complimentary lip touchups with National Director of Artistry, Lara Srokowski took place on Wednesday, 30th of January until Saturday, 10th of February.

The pop-up encouraged visitors to discover Lancôme’s limited edition range including Advanced Génifique and L’Absolu Rouge and to learn from Lancôme’s Senior Makeup Artists, how to create a look that perfect look. In addition, visitors could shop their favourite Lancôme products for a range of New Year gift.

Automatic Vending Specialists customised the vending machine to dispense various cosmetic products. We also provided the decaling for the vending machine with beautiful finishing, showcasing the brand’s elegant market presence. Visitors were provided with custom promotional tokens that they could use to dispense products from the machine.

Make-up and beauty custom vending machine

Automatic Vending Specialists built this custom make-up and beauty vending machine for BeautyBlender’s “Bounce Liquid Wrap Long Wear Foundation”. The foundation’s texture applies silkily and stays looking fresh and is buildable.

This foundation retails at $60. Beauty media were shown the features & benefits today and then literally dispensed their product from a vending machine.

Australia Post Vending Machines

Australia Post is introducing a new superstore format that offers amazing facilities that, until now, were not available. The stores include a 24-hour zone equipped with vending machines and parcel lockers. The vending machines allow customers to purchase typical postal items like stamps, express post envelopes and satchels as well as parcel post satchels at any time of the day or night. In addition, some of the latest stores also range USB sticks, phone cables and travel adaptors.

YSL – Lippy Vending

Yves Saint Laurent set out to revolutionise beauty buys with the launch of a vending machine filled with their legendary lipsticks– Lippy Vending. Marie Laure Claisse YSL Beauty Marketing Manager said ‘The concept behind the #YSLBeautyClub vending machine is all about a fun and engaging way to interact with the brand. It’s about beauty on the go. We’re all used to getting a treat out of the vending machine — why couldn’t beauty be this quick, fun and surprising?”

“Intangible Goods” Custom Vending Machine

Automatic Vending Specialists was commissioned to customise the vending machine to sell these non-standard goods. Vending peace and tranquility is a challenge that was happily taken on by AVS. The “Intangible Goods” custom vending machine dispenses each Intangible Good for $2 a pop. All proceeds go to local mental health charities and organisations

AVS Customer Spotlight: Powerpod

In this AVS Customer Spotlight, we take a look at non-traditional vending, featuring one of Australia’s leading tech product vendors, Powerpod.

When people think of vending, they tend to think more about vending machines that sell chips, chocolate or soft drinks. In this video, we feature Powerpod and take a look at some of the tech products that they sell in their vending machines. Some of these products include: phone chargers, power banks, headphones, USB cables, power adapters and pre-paid sim cards.

Microsoft XBOX Vending Machine

This custom vending machine was placed at the Microsoft Flagship store at Pitt Street Mall in Sydney.

Customers engaged with Microsoft on social media by using the hashtag #microsoftsyd and received a token that they used to redeem special giveaways from the vending machine! Customers had the chance to win great prizes including an XBOX One prize pack.

Introducing Australia’s First Ever Moet Vending Machine

Besides your regular snacks and drinks, the humble vending machine has upped its game in recent years providing us with things we need to buy quickly and cheaply including thongs, make-up and even hot food.

But now, things have gone seriously upmarket!

Automatic Vending Specialists supplied Australia’s first ever Moet and Chandon vending machine!

Located (where else?) on the Gold Coast at The Star’s Garden Kitchen & Bar at Broadbeach, you will need to drop a special $29 gold token into the machine before receiving the mini bottle that comes with a gold sipper (because drinking from a bottle with a straw will make you look like a refugee from the Melbourne Cup!)

The machines were first launched in the UK in 2013, and if this one does big business, hopefully they will start to spring up all over the country!

Deakin University custom vending machine

Deakin University approached AVS to customise a vending machine to vend notebooks. Inside those notebooks were hundreds of prizes. Students could win a prize when they purchase a notebook. AVS arranged the decaling of the vending machine to beautifully showcase the university’s brand colours and polished image.

“Canberra in a Can” tourism campaign

“Canberra in a Can” is the latest pop-up promotion by VisitCanberra to attract visitors to the national capital.

Habitat Media approached Automatic Vending Specialists to build custom vending machines to vend cans for the “Canberra in a Can” tourism campaign.

Each of the cans contains information packs, tickets, discounts and offers for a short break in Canberra. This meant that the cans were not of standard weight since they did not contain fluids.

AVS technical development team performed rigorous testing and adapted the machines and products to vend the custom cans flawlessly. AVS customised and decaled the machines to the customer’s needs.
